Dr. Roese has been educated Germany and Canada and received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from York University in Toronto. She is registered with the Ontario College of Psychologist. Dr. Roese specializes in the areas of eating and weight problems and is is certified in the practice of trauma treatment of any type, such as work or car accidents, natural disasters, bullying or work place harassment for example. These specialties compliment her general psychological practice wherein her goal is helping clients not only to improve their mental/emotional health but to improve their quality of life in all aspects. A healthy mind relates to a healthier body and happier living.
She is trained in various meditation/mindfulness techniques. Dr. Roese helps clients with pain- management, anxiety and depression as well as many other psychological disorders and challenges she has successfully addressed over two decades of practicing clinical psychology in varied settings. She has worked in hospitals (e.g., CAMH,TGH) corporate health, educational institutions, addiction clinics, correctional facilities, multi-disciplinary clinics and at the same time always in her private practice.
Dr. Roese clientele include teenagers and adults into old age. She works with individual, couples and families, groups and corporations. She is trained in art therapy and DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) and incorporates those skills into her individual practice. Her versatile therapeutic approaches include cognitive/behavioural techniques, psychodynamic, experiential/interpersonal and other modalities that are evidence based psychological interventions.
